Oh, I know quite intriguing... What does this mean?? Well, I will let you. As you may or may not know in YWAM when you staff a DTS you lead an outreach team. Your school leaders present you with a group of Nations that you then pray about and see where the Lord directs you. Very scary in some ways and totally exciting in others. So about two weeks ago the staff gathered and patiently waited (we were not patient at all it was driving us all crazy!!) as each nation was written up on the board. Our hearts were built up with so much excitement and then came the moment where our leaders said alright you have five minutes pray and see where the Lord wants you to go. Now this becomes a time where you have to totally trust God, all your insecurities come up about if you can really hear him or not, or that you heard him wrong and you have to trust that its not your flesh guiding you!! Needless to say you thought that this question ask the Lord where he wants to send you was some sort peace treaty being made in the Middle East that your life depended on and everyone else around you did as well (Maybe that is a little dramatic description but its also funny!!). I was freaking out hahahah... if you couldn't tell but at the same time I knew where He told me to go. Why do we always question Him??
With all that being said I put down Japan. Not really sure why but my heart was freaking out that this was where I was suppose to go! I put it down, handed my paper in and waited and let me tell you three days of waiting is so awful! hahahaha... Not really, but I hate suspence it kills me!! I have to know!! I wasn't in Kona at the time everyone found out the location because God blessed me so much by bringing my family for two weeks to the islands so I could spend some holiday time with them since I am not going to be home for the holidays. So I was in Maui at the time and I am not joking when I say this everything I ran into was about Japan I am not joking. I saw everything from Japanese cucumbers, (I didn't know they existed), from tv shows of people moving to Japan, and signs and history of Japan at a restaurant. I felt like God was clearly saying you are going! So I get the phone call on Friday, FINALLY, you are going to Japan and I was so excited!! I cannot wait. I will have a co-leader name Zak. It is going to be an awesome trip. My family was so excited for me and I was over joyed that they were able to be here to find out with me.
So April 1st I will along with Zak and a group of students to Japan to join with the YWAM base in Tokyo. What we will do I am not quite sure and what it all will look like I don't know because when you work with Jesus he always has lots of surprises. So if you want to know what you can pray for me is just that I stay focused and organized, that all the details we have ahead of us will go smoothly, for our team, we don't know yet what students will be going with us but just that God starts to create a strong unity and love in the students. The list could go in in prayer but mainly just pray for me and that I am attentive to what God is wanting to do in this time and in Japan. Another thing I need to voice is I do need to start raising funds for my outreach. They have told us to estimate about 3,000 for right now. If you are feeling like you would want to partner with me at this time I would love it. You can give several ways. I do have a mission account set up that you can make checks to YWAM and so your giving can be tax deductible. (If you are going to do that let me know because I have to give you my account number and what not.) If you are interested in giving before the end of the year let me know. Also if you would like to receive an more indepth updates this new year I will be starting a better informative updates for everyone who wants to keep up with me and or would like to partner with me and support me. ***Email me at katelandhilty@gmail.com
I would like to thank everyone to that have supported me this year. Financially and in prayer. It has meant the world to me!! I have felt your prayers time and time again. I know it was what kept me focused and never feeling alone. The financial giving has blessed me beyond words and I see this a you are apart of the fruit I have seen in the Nations. It is just as much mine as it yours. Thank you again and again! Many many Blessing on you I love you all!!!
